The Wimberley AP-620 replaces the factory tripod mounting foot attached to the rotation collar for the Sony 200-600 f/5.6-6.3 G OSS. The American made AP-620 Replacement Foot serves four main purposes: 1. It is stiffer than the factory tripod mounting foot on the rotation collar, reducing flex and vibration; 2. it serves as the Arca-Swiss style quick-release plate for your lens;3. it creates a more ideal geometry for using your lens on the Wimberley Sidemount Head and the Sidekick®, allowing the lens to balance optimally. 4. It reduces the overall height of your lens so that it handles better on a conventional tripod head such as a ball head.Wimberley lens plates are compatible with Arca-Swiss style quick-release clamps such as those made by Wimberley, Kirk Enterprises, Really Right Stuff, Arca-Swiss, Markins, and others. These custom low-profile replacement feet replace the factory foot on the rotation collar of your lens and also serve as the Arca-Swiss style quick-release plate for your lens. No additional quick-release plate is needed. It makes your lens handle better on a conventional tripod head, such as a ball head, and also makes it easier to pack. Using our replacement foot on your large lens decreases the overall height of the lens, lowering the center of gravity so that it achieves proper balance when used on a gimbal head such as the Wimberley Head or the Sidekick. Our replacement feet are specifically designed to allow for optimal gimbal head performance and may be required when using specific lenses on our Sidekick. The replacement feet are millled to slide right into an Arca-Swiss style quick-release clamp, and also have 1/4" and 3/8" tapped holes for mounting to non-quick-release tripod heads and monopods.
